Hello all, been a while since I've posted on here! I'm thinking about upgrading my system in the relatively near future but wanted to get some advice on what I was looking into to see if it would even be feasible. I was gifted with my monitor, which has a 3440x1440 resolution, and my current GPU is just not able to push out enough performance for the resolution so it's probably about time to upgrade. Main use would be gaming so I'm thinking about upgrading from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a 5600 (after flashing BIOS) and swapping out my GTX 1060 6GB for a 6700/6700XT and probably adding in a 1TB NVME SSD. With my current 550W PSU (XFX XTR 550W 80+ Gold, which is ~7 years old) would I be able to get away without needing to upgrade the PSU as well? Also, it is very hard to find benchmarks for the 3440x1440 resolution so I've just conservatively interpolated between 1440p and 4K and figured performance would be somewhere around there, would the 6700/XT be enough to push out decent FPS at that resolution? I do not care about max settings, although med-high settings at least would be nice and I only really care to get enough FPS to be enjoyable/smooth. Hoping to be able to put as little as possible into my AM4 build to take it to the end of it's life before moving on in maybe 2-3 years. Thanks in advance!
