For gaming....I think the gtx 1080 ryzen 5 combo might actually be more future proof because I think you are going to max out the 1070 Ti way before you max out the Ryzen 7. I think the ryzen 5 and gtx 1080 combo is much more balanced.

I also think the ryzen 5 1600 amd the gtx 1080 might perform better in games.

The 2700X build is far superior for everything and more future proof.
