Hi,
Firstly, thanks for any help or views. I did search the forums but found no posts comparing these two directly.
Ryzen 5 1600 was recommended to me as a budget upgrade (from i5 2400) costing just £90. However I see Ryzen 5 2600X for £120.
I am thinking is the extra outlay on a budget worth it, or would I only notice the extra oomph in processor heavy applications like Photoshop (which I never use)?
I'm a gamer, and a fairly budget one at that (gaming for the past 25 years so I only get an hour or two a day in with family etc).
Then again, better processor steam would help when I periodically fire up medieval 2 total war in a fit of nostalgia!
I'll be running alongside this:
Any mobo tips welcome too, as they are what I know least about!
Again, thanks in advance for any help.

I'll be running alongside this:
- RX580
- 16gb ram (DDR4 probably, depending on mobo I get)
- 650w antec neoeco semi-modular PSU
Any mobo tips welcome too, as they are what I know least about!
Again, thanks in advance for any help.
