[SOLVED] Ryzen 5 2600 OC or 2600x no overclock?

Hey everyone.

I’m looking to upgrade from my ryzen 3 2200g to a ryzen 5.

I know that the 2600x is a better deal with a much better boost clock, but I’ll be using the stock cooler with some good thermal paste. If I get the 2600 with a $40 air cooler and overclock it, can I get better performance out of the 2600 or the 2600x?

Performance would be pretty much the same.

You'd end up with a better cooler if you go with the 2600 + $40 cooler though.
