[SOLVED] Ryzen 5 2600 or Ryzen 5 3400g?

I've noticed that the 3400g has been going for a slightly higher price than (what I thought was) the faster 2600. Is the 4C/4T8T 3rd gen preferable for gaming over the 6C/12T 2nd gen CPU? That doesn't sound right to me.

The 3400g is 4c/8t. Even though it is last gen architecturally, it is still brand new and will cost more than the 2600 which has come down in price. The 3400g and has an IGPU.
The 2600 is older and has had time for price to go down. The 2600 has a higher MSRP than the 3400g.


If using dedicated GPU, go 2600. Need Igpu, go 3400g.

3400G has integrated graphics, which are nice for a budget rig, but, pointless if you are getting a discrete GPU for gaming anyway...

Get the 2600...every day

Thanks guys. That was a typo on my part. I meant to type 4C/8T for the 3400g. Fixed. OK then, the 2600 it is.
