Hello everyone!

I bought a ryzen 5 2600x for my gaming pc and I will be pairing it with a 5700xt red devil, to play AAA games in 1440p 144hz. The 2600x costed 125 euros and the 3600 costs 190. Did I do the right choice? It seems like there is a big price difference between the 2600x and the 3600. Is it worth spending more money and getting the 3600?

Thank you !

3600 enjoys a very nice bump in IPC due to Zen 2 architecture, so a nice boost in all-around performance that you'll definitely appreciate. I think it's worth the extra dollars but if you're on a budget the price 2600X's are going for right now are just amazing. Add in that at 1440p it's really the GPU (even a 5700xt) that becomes the limiter.

It indeed is a hard choice because of the value they offer at that price, but I'd go for the 3600 if you can. Simply because it's going to have more 'staying' power.

So basically the cpu will kinda bottleneck my gpu? What if I overclock the cpu? It's just that 65 euros is much more expensive considering the fps difference isn't that big.

well..no. it's the GPU that will probably bottleneck your CPU at 1440 144hz, in most AAA titles. A 3600 even less so, it's crazy fast single-core clock speed is great, but it shouldn't be overloaded unless you really turn down the eye candy. But what's the point of playing a AAA game if graphics looks like the original Doom.
