Question Ryzen 5 2600x vs i5 8600 - better value?

Hi Guys!

Just need your insights. Currently planning on a new build. For the CPU, im looking at either Ryzen 5 2600x or i5 8600. Both are around $240 in our area. Been googling for comparisson but did not find anything solid.

I do mostly gaming and a little video/photo editing. Just need your insights on what would be best in terms of value and future proofing. Need something that would last 4-5 years.

Where are you located and what does your proposed system for both platforms look like? You need to understand that Ryzen loves higher frequencied ram which is where you performance will lie.

Hey Lutfij. Im located in the Philippines. I havent looked at a build for i5 yet since Im really planning on a Ryzen build until I found out that i5 has similar price. For ryzen, i was planning the set-up below:

GPU: Rtx 2060
MOBO: Gigabyte b540 aorus elite or msi b540 gaming plus
RAM: gskill tident z 16g (8x2) ddr4 3000 mhz

Ryzen 5 2600x would be better for video and photo editing but the intel is probibly a bit better when it comes to gaming. I would recommend going for the ryzen.
