I have purchased few PC components and curious which processor and motherboard I should go for
List of components I've purchased
1) 16GB Corsair Vengence 2400 mhz
2) MSI GeForce GTX 1050ti 4GB
3) Monitor
4) Cabinet ( Support Liquid cooling )
5) 2TB HDD
6) 650w PSU

Now which processor and Mobo should I go for ?
I am confused between
I5 8400
I5 7400
Ryzen 5 2600X

I will be using this PC for gaming, streaming and will be using visual studio as well.

Solution
If you were solely gaming, then the i5 8400 would be your best choice, although if you’re streaming as well, the Ryzen 5 2600X offers 6 cores and 12 threads as opposed to only 6 cores and 6 threads. Another factor to think about is if you ever plan on overclocking you’d be limited to the i5 8600K, while a Ryzen 5 2600 or 2600X both are unlocked (and cost less). As for motherboards there’s a great article for a wide range of AMD X470 chipset boards, which all support overclocking https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-x470-motherboard-comparison,5637.html

I wouldn't even consider the i5 7400.

The i5 8400 generally performs better than the 2600x for pure gaming, however that may be a different story if you are streaming and playing at the same time depending on the game and the settings of your stream. I do't know what a visual studio is but if it involves rendering a 2600x will render slightly faster than a i5 8400.
