I bought the Ryzen 5 2600x and AMD Vega 56 and built a new system about 2 years ago. Is there a general rule of thumb that I can follow, or is there no general rule these days? I usually think go 6 years before upgrading my cpu and 4 year before upgrading my graphics card. I know that with the new xbox and ps5, they use the 8 core set ups, so likely most new games on pc will use the 8 cores as well.

I am having no issues with games, and I run 2560x1080 gaming, so I dont really delve in 4k at all. (sit so close, not sure it would matter) However I want to try to plan ahead a bit.

When would I consider upgrading Ryzen 5 2600x:
When would I consider upgrading AMD Vega56:

Also, I have a 30 in ultrawide, so I just bought another 16 gig ram, so Im guess future upgrades I would want to stick with 32 gigs ram.

Thanks
