You are correct that the ASUS and ASRock B550 do not support the Ryzen 5 3400G APU. Why would you want to take on the potential problems when you can easily go with a B450 that will support it? And also insure the memory you order is on the QVL for the board you select. So I'm really close to buying a b550 f. Issue is that I have a ryzen 5 3400g which should be incompatible but has worked for some people with the asus tuf and a asrock mobo. So I'm wondering is it worth risking?
Because of the speeds that I can oc my ram later and I also wannna upgrade my cpu later. the b550 f seems so much better than the b450 e i would have to get if I didn't buy a b550. I think the ryzen 5 3400g will work with b550 but I'm scared it wont. You are correct that the ASUS and ASRock B550 do not support the Ryzen 5 3400G APU.
