Question Ryzen 5 3400g & Gigabyte x570 Aorus Pro Wifi

Apr 21, 2020
1st let me say I am new to this forum but not so new to the overclocking world although it has been several years and much has changed so everything seems foreign to me again.

I understand some of the limits of this CPU but still trying to tweak it to the best possible settings. So any help will be greatly appreciated.

My set-up consists of the following

Gigabyte x570 Aorus Pro Wifi (bios F12e)
AMD Ryzen 5 3400g
2x16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR 4 32gb 3200MHZ (CMK32GX4ME3200C16) (b-die)
2x Inland m.2
2x Inland SSD 1Tb (raid0 2Tb)
1 HHD 2Tb
Evga Supernova 750 G+ (room to expand if going with dedicated graphics later)

Memory Speed seems to be limited to 2933mhz (I am sure this is in relation to CPU) I have tried G.skill Ripjaws V 3600 (Hynix chips) was able to get it to 3333mhz but not stable in Prime95
G.skill Ripjaws V 3200 (b-die 16-18-18-38) only able to get 2933mhz

With the memory I did use the XMP profile only but set the voltage to 1.35-1.41 and nothing helped.

Still using XMP setting but lowered to 2933 Prime stable no errors 48+hrs

The CPU is 3.7ghz with chance to reach 4.2ghz.

Highest I have reached (stable) only increasing multiplier was 4.05ghz anything above this was not stable.

There again with CPU only set multiplier nothing else adjusted all on auto.

Looking for tips or tricks to try on this set-up to reach better CPU and Memory clocks.

Temps: @ 3.7ghz I am idle at 28c, under full Prime95 stress @ 51c, when I had it at 4.05ghz idle 30c and full load Prime95 58c stock cooling.

Please treat me as a complete NOOB as it has been several years since playing around with bios settings.

Thanks in advance.
