Which will be better , 2 physical cores or 2 extra threads? Plus should i wait for more b550 mobos to arrive or should i just go with b450?
Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

always go for he physical cores over thread, but 3300X and 3500 is only a little different in price per performance, if you're a video editor or gamer + streamer, Ryzen 5 3500 would satisfy you than R3 3300X. but if you're only play games, Ryzen 3 3300X would be enough for it, yet you could save the buck for the motherboard. Also if you dont do much with PCIe 4.0 thingy and not planning for ryzen 4000 upgrade yet, stick with B450, it is enough for most of usage.

Yeah i'll be doing some video editing work and mostly gaming, right now i'm using an FX -6300 OC to 4.4ghz and a gtx 1050 ti both are well enough for some gaming but it sucks when it comes to editing and stuff, i will upgrade the gpu later so for now i'll go with the ryzen 5 3500.

To answer your first query, in my personal opinion I prefer 2 cores over threads for sure. I prefer playing Call of Duty and I love to do so using a 6 core rather than a 4 core.

Do you use the laptop for gaming or for business purposes?

Are you going to be using a couple of SSD drives? If you don’t have such a specific requirement, then it is better to stick with B450 mobos.

Please do share your thought on this. I’d be happy to share my thoughts.
