[SOLVED] Ryzen 5 3600 and compatible motherboards..

Does ASrock B550 Pro4, ASrock B450 STEEL LEGEND and GIGABYTE B550 GAMINX X (rev. 1.0) motherboards need bios update to work with ryzen 5 3600? Also if you know more budget motherboards and good coolers which works well with ryzen 5 3600 feel free to suggest me since i heard that cooler which comes in box with 3600 isnt that good.

400 series chipset mostly need BIOS update, depending on date of production, 500 series do not need BIOS update.

Is cooler master hyper 212 black edition better than hyper 212 evo? because evo isnt available.Also what about cooler master sickleflow 120 ARGB , its cheap but is it good for ryzen?

well probably only fans and color that differs, also i do not prefer 120 aio if you mean that sickle flow is aio cooler, that air cooler is much better.

tnx, also which one should i get? ASRock B550 Pro4 or ASRock B550M Pro4? The M version is a lot cheaper but i read somehwere that its also better

I would go with B550, for Gen4 PCI-E for storage, and GPU slot, 3.0 from the chipset, and better I/O in the back. Cooler, a Vetroo V5 is inexpensive, and does quite well. I am using one, on my 5800x, right now.

I think i've decided for gigabyte b550 gaming x (rev.1.0) and hyper 212 black edition (😅 sorry for bothering you this much ) i have bought hyperx predator 16GB kit , and just to get ryzen 5 3600, and a better power supply and im done with pc upgrade.My GPU is rx 570, its not really special but i think it will work nice with this system for now.I also plan upgrading it in future.

Eh unlucky me Ryzen 5 3600 is out of stock everywhere, thinking whether i should wait for it to be available again or buy ryzen 5 5600x

If you can, grab 5600x, will be good for longer time.

I can vouch for sickleflow, it's a fantastic low noise cooler. Certainly better than masterfans.

As of mobo, b550 boards shouldn't need bios update even for zen 3.


Don't go with hyper 212. They were the goat. Not anymore. Cryorig h7 is better at price point. Hyper 212 has one of the worst mountings

Sickleflow is case fan. I was talking about sickleflow case fans. Not sure it has cpu cooler
