So I recently upgraded my processor from a Ryzen 3 1200 to a Ryzen 5 3600, my graphics card loves it cause I tested out the games I play but when I went to CPU-Z & reinstalled the Ryzen Master I noticed the chip is set at 4.2 max, and the chip was also using 2 cores when I first installed it but I changed it via config.

Also I have my power settings set at AMD Ryzen Balanced

Its base clock is 3.6ghz
Max. Boost Clock : Up to 4.2Ghz

Notes on Boost clock - https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/cpu-pb2

That max speed is normal but you will only see it on one core. Most of the time the CPU won't be anywhere near max speed at idle, not sure about in games. It likely only uses it if temps are low and one core is needed to run something that requires high speed.

I have a 3600xt,
its base clock is 3.8ghz
max boost of 4.5ghz (although Ryzen master shows 4.6ghz)

its average effective clock speed at idle is 1.2ghz today anyway.
