Question Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 2700x for Gaming and Streaming

Due to ipc improvements the 3600 will be faster than the 2700x for a single core which is more important for games. But over all if you multi task stream video encode transcode render etc the 2700x will use those extra cores and be ultimately faster for those apps.

So its a trade off.

3600 unless the 2700X is significantly cheaper. Depends on which games you play too.

On the streaming part alone, I would say for the 2700x.

As a continuation of the discussion...the IPC difference for gaming will also be seen only if you have a high refresh rate monitor. For instance, if you are gaming on a monitor that is 1080/60hz you would never even know.
Do keep in mind that you will either need to confirm that the motherboard is BIOS updated for that 3xxx series CPU, or have a way to do it yourself/stick with 2xxx.
