Those who are using Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 5 3600X cpu please share the following informations in this thread .This will benefit every Ryzen 3000 series CPU users. Please do it , this will take max 2-3 mins of your time .

  1. Your idle CPU voltage.
  2. Idle CPU temp .
  3. Ambient temp .
  4. Max temperature under heavy load .
  5. your motherboard model and BIOS version.
  6. cooler model .
I'm sharing mine

1)1.414v
2)48-56c
3)32c
4)89c under stress test. 78c avg during gaming.
  1. MSIB450 tomahawk Max bios version 3.00 (stock bios )
  2. stock wrath stealth cooler.

you had the same problem as me...
the problem(i think) is peak's voltage with the consequences of higher temperature.
beacause 1.4 v for idle is too much.

i had

  1. 1.2/1.4v
  2. 44/66
  3. 25
  4. under gaming(sekiro at max detail with rx 580) 75/82c
  5. MSI b450 gaming plus
6)stock cooler

after struggling on internet i ("fixed") in this way...

- download and install the latest amd chipset driver
https://www.amd.com/en/products/chipsets-am4

- but most important enter in bios and disable these options:
(maybe we have the same bios, i don't know)
""game boost"" (overclocking menu)
""precision boost overdrive"" (overclocking\advanced cpu configuration)
""core permormance boost"" (overclocking\advanced cpu configuration)

-and enable:
""AMD cool'n' quiet"" (overclocking\cpu features)

after that go to the power setting of windows and choose:
""power saver"" (for lowest temperature but you loose performance.)
or
""AMD Ryzen balanced"" (which is precisely "balanced) i'm using this.

Now

1) 1.037v (with chrome open)
2)35/42c average 38c
4) 57c

i dont know if it's the right way in terms of perfomance ecc... but for me seem work.
i've build PC 5 days ago and I didn't think the CPU would heat that much so soon as possible i'll change the stock cooler with a better one.
I hope it will be useful.
sorry for my english.

Thanks for your reply.I didn't almost the same tweaks and got better thermals. I'm using windows powerplan with min processor state of 5%.But many people are saying undervolting ryzen cpu's are bad idea. Still i think 1.4v at idle is too much for me.So i did it anyway. Hopefully MSI will release a new BIOS update to address this issue. are you using ComboPI 1.0.0.3ab updated bios ?
