Hello. I am upgrading my PC, I bought an RTX 3070 and I am planning to upgrade the CPU next. In my country the 5600x is $400 while the 3600 is $230. Is the price increase worth it? If not, is it a good idea to buy the 3600 and wait for Zen 4 on the new chipset and upgrade then?

Edit: I should add that I currently have an i5 6500 in my system.

Solution
The 5600X is around 19% faster than the 3600X in games and is faster in productivity stuff than the 3600X. Not in all the titles but most of them. If you can afford it get the 5600X with a B550 board with a Flashback function so you can update the BIOS without a CPU installed because the board will need a BIOS update to support that 5600X.

I just want to add that the 5600X is a 6 cores CPU. It's a bit less future proof than the 5800X 8 cores. Games at the moment can run just fine on a 6 cores. No one knows what it will be in 3-4-5 years.

How much is the Intel 10700K 8 cores in your country?

Definitely diminishing returns for gamers after the 5600x.

Yeah at the moment it definitely is. If you buy your CPU and you want to keep it for 5 years a 8 cores would be a smarter choice.
I originally got the 3600 from Amazon non (X) variant. It was in stock, cheap, and way better than my I5-7600 in my Dell
Then I decided that more threads was better, but the 5800X wasnt a good value.
Finally I found a 5900x.
Now Im building with that, but no GPU yet.
The old 1050TI will be used till I can find something not scalped or 5 yrs old

The 10700k and the 5600x are the same price, so there would be no competition there.
The reason I ask for advice is that currently money is kind of tight and if I were to buy a 5600x + B550 Steel Legend (the best price to value board available to me) I would exhaust all my budget, and I wouldn't be able to upgrade to an SSD.
