[SOLVED] Ryzen 5 3600X Need Help in choosing parts!! (budget is tight **)

Since i got a 5-7 year old PC. I have finally decided to upgrade my PC.

I am Planning to buy "-
CPU- R5 3600X
MOBO- ASROCK b450M PRO4 OR GIGABYTE B450M DS3H or any other Cheap Possible
PSU- Corsair VS550
RAM- F4-3200C16D-16GTZRX or F4-3200C14D-16GFX other Cheaper then this.

Please Help me choosing the RAM, its very confusing.

i did some research on my own gskill official says "F4-3200C16D-16GTZRX" is compatible with Both b450 Mobo i have mentioned but the official site doesn't show this ram.

Help Please!!!

Please gimme opinions for what to buy and what not to for all parts.

what is the budget?

if it is 5-7 years old pc I suspect that the ram is DDR3 so you can't reuse that part.
for the ram you want fast ram like 3200 mhz cl16 is pretty good choose.

Change the PSU to a cx550m, or Vengeance series. VS are not good quality. Just grab a regular 3600. The performance difference is negligible, and saves you $50, that you could put towards a better motherboard, like the MSI B450 Tomahawk. Keep in mind, any B450 will need a bios update, to use that CPU.

The x is: it's optimized for ryzen.
It is a good choice as long as you have also checked the mobo qvl's
The gtzr is still a very good choice also.


Seconded on the psu.
Also you have not listed a gpu so psu requirements need to be meet for a gpu choice.
The rm series psu has a 12 yr warranty.

At the current prices of ram try even if it is 2x4 for 8gb.
I paid $229.00 in late september 2018 for 16gb 2x8 3200 cl14 g.skill flare x it's now $149.00 @ the exact same store.
The system will run better in dual channel mode.

Again, get the non x, to open up budget elsewhere. You can match the 3600x clock speed, with just a multiplier bump, in the bios. You are looking at a 4500 difference, which would help you get a better quality PSU. You seriously do not want to skimp on PSU quality. get something like an evga supernova g3 550w, its 80+ gold and fully modular, its a budget fully modular psu, gather some more money if you don thave and buy that one

Unless you are able to verify which BIOS the motherboard will come with, those boards may not support Ryzen 3000 without an update (which would require an older CPU). The motherboard I linked to has a feature that allows you to update without a supported CPU.

The 3000 MHz kit I found seems to be a fair bit cheaper than any 3200 MHz kits. Performance difference won't be that much.

Unless that PSU is the MWE Gold version, it's not very good. As has been said already in this thread repeatedly, don't cheap out on your PSU. Step down from a 3600X to a 3600 if you need to in order to get a good PSU within your budget.
