My current PC was a XPS pre built from 2015 with an I7 6700k 2133MHz Ram with a crappy Dell Motherboard micro atx and I got a 2070 super in it. I was planning on buying a Ryzen 5 3600X and pairing it with an MSI B550-A Pro motherboard and just give my other computer to a friend. I'm wondering if the Ryzen 5 3600X can run 3600MHz ram, the motherboard is compatible with the RAM speed but on the AMD site it was up to 3200MHz, should I go for 3200MHz or go for 3600MHz if the CPU can support it?

Solution
First of all, just build a NEW computer with BETTER specs.

And to answer your question, it would be the safe bet to go for the 3200 mHz ram. You don't want to take a risk. 3200 mHz isn't slow either; it's pretty fast. You should be fine. You can always overclock it a little in the bios

Yeah I've been doing more research and I think I'll just go with 3200 MHz. Btw essentially all I need is Ram, Mobo and Cpu. I have everything else and I have enough parts to use my old CPU with my old Ram and mobo and I got a second computer because i have extra drives and a 1660 ti laying around. Thank you for the response though

Yeah that seems pretty good. Hope I helped. Gtx 1660 ti isn't that powerful though, just saying. If you want my opinion on a good budget gpu, just reply!
Yeah I was also looking at a 2060 but this would be an upgrade for my little brother and he won't be doing much besides Minecraft, Roblox and little indie games
