Hello guys, I have a question and I was wondering if you can help. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from i7 7700 to Ryzen 5 5600x because at the moment my CPU is heavily bottlenecking my GPU. I didn't use any bottleneck calculators, I just payed attention to task manager while I'm playing games. For example in Warzone my CPU is in 80-90% load and my GPU is at 15-25% max. It doesn't matter if I put all the settings in low or ultra. It's the same result and it struggles to deliver 60fps constantly in 1080p resolution. Do you think these two components will work together properly? I also have 16gb of RAM.

Solution
Personally I’d go 5600x. While a 2070 may not fully utilise the extra performance the 5600x should meet future gpu upgrades. It’s not uncommon to keep a cpu for 1 or 2 gpu upgrades.

What resolution and Hz is your monitor?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

They will, just that you're going to need a B550 chipset motherboard. For rams, you should look at DDR4-3600MHz dual channel kits to get the best out of the platform.
Thank you for your quick response. Do you think that the 5600x is an overkill for the 2070? Will the 2070 bottleneck the 5600x? Or I will be better with an ryzen 5 3600x? I'm not interested in the price, I looking at straight performance balance.

My current monitor is 1080p 60hz. I'm looking to upgrade my monitor also in the near future, but I don't know if i will have the money to buy an 2k 144hz. Most certainly I will het a 1080p 144 hz.
