Should I get a Ryzen 5 5600x ($300) or i9 10850k ($320)? I will be using it for gaming, some streaming and some video editing. Also take into account the prices of the motherboards. I can get a B550 AORUS PRO for $144. I haven't really looked into motherboards for the i9 10850k but I have seen they can be a bit pricey. I will be pairing it with a RTX 3070 FE and 16GB 3000MHZ ram.

Solution
There's no doubt that 10850K is much better than 5600X. If you can get it for only $20 more (and even if you pay $50 more for motherboard), 10850K is still better choice.
But keep in mind: to actually benefit performance advantage of 10850K, you will need to have a very good cooling solution. Let's say we're talking about $150+ AIO water cooling in this case (where AMD would be happy and silent with decent $50 air cooler). And so, 100850K ends up as 20+50+100=$170 more expensive.
And at this point, Ryzen 5800X starts to look more interesting choice.

I also had to make this decision and I went with the 5600x because I knew I wanted to upgrade to the 5900x when it was available. The 10850k is the better CPU for streaming. If I was going to stick with 1 CPU for the next 5 years and it had to be either of them I would chose the 10850k.

Would an i9-10850K with a NZXT Kraken 360mm rad AIO be good? MOBO would be Strix Z490-E or Z950-E.
