Hello,

I recently upgraded to a 3070 - Ryzen 5 5600x combo. I've heard some things about the 5600x running at high temps and that being totally normal, but others say its not great. My CPU can reach up to 80 degrees Celsius when running triple A titles and it just really concerns me. I've constantly had MSI on in the back to monitor temps and it means I'm way more focused on that than the actual game and its causing me quite a hassle. AMD have said its maximum operating temp is 95 degrees, which seems outrageous to me, but I am very naïve on the matter. Can anyone help advise on the situation? Is this okay or should I be concerned and upgrade my cooler? Any advice or guidance would be well appreciated!

In terms of cooling, my case is a CIT raider case with three intake fans on the front and one rear exhaust fan. I am also using a BeQuiet! Pure Rock 2 air cooler for the 5600x.

RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) 3200Mhz

My 7950X sits in the low nineties Centigrade for hours on end when rendering videos. My mum's 5600X runs cool all the time, but she doesn't play games. Provided you have a big enough cooler and adequate case ventilation, don't worry about it.

My old Phenom II X4 955 had a maximum operating temperature of 60C. If the core temp reached 59C, it caused a BSOD.

Modern AMD CPUs work at 95C and Intel at 100C. It's called progress (or trying to screw the last drop of performance out of a CPU to beat the opposition).
