News Ryzen 5 7400F uses thermal paste instead of solder, chip hits max temps at stock TDP

This is a really good way to ruin all the momentum they've built up recently and destroy people's trust. Of course this won't be the tipping point of that, but continue on this path AMD and don't say I didn't warn you.

Really? That is a budget cpu and will run exactly as advertised with a stock air cooler under general loads.

Your warnings it's like a children at play ground crying.

That is a defective cheap cpu for who don't care of speed. Just want it to work without dropping more money into it.

As long as this thinking doesn't permeate into their mid-higher range CPUs, whatever corners they're cutting to make a budget Zen 4 CPU isn't important to me.

Another path to value is to get the 7600, then do without a separate GPU. Sure, it's only 2 CU, but it has all the features of RDNA 2, including the media block. Enthusiasts can undervolt and overclock both CPU and iGPU.

Why not? I will definitely buy this. There is value and purpose for the 7400F. A great way and reason for me to finally enter the AM5 scene. It's cheap and a great budget chip for a small compact home entertainment PC.

I've heard the 2 CU iGPU runs worse than expected, probably driver issues. Otherwise the performance is just fine and around as good as the Alder Lake desktop iGPU. It has fallen behind Arrow Lake.

If I was thinking of buying one of these CPUs, I would wait for proper reviews from known respectable sources, like Tom's. Not rely on some random spod, who's testing methods and level of honesty are unknown.

When you accept lower quality they will make it the norm going forward.

That's how we got into the situation with Nvidia lowering products down a generation and Intel's shenanigans.

If you want to forgo the getting a discrete graphics card, the Ryzen 8600 would make more sense than the 7600. They are usually about the same price, and the Ryzen 8600 has an 8 CU iGPU, making much better at any gaming stuff, albeit at the cost of somewhat worse CPU due to having less L3 cache.
