Basically which is better? Plan to do mainly do gaming with few to no apps in the background. Want to stay at 1080p 60fps minimum.

Asus rog strix X570-e mobo

Rtx 3070 gpu

3800x is next to useless. It's a higher TDP 3700x that gets the same results ±. And costs more for almost 0 gain.

The 5600x is the better cpu all around, but good luck getting one this year, supplies are limited, demand is overwhelming and some companies are not offering pre-sales simply due to the volume of back ordered units.

Ok. 5600x it is. I plan on slowly building over the nect year so i don't mind supply.

But for curiosity and knowledge, i want to understand this: 3800x has more cores and better base speed than both 5600x and 5800x and boost speed is only a point lower but it's the 5600x that's performing better? What is the reason? I heard someone here just say something about strong IPC gain over last gen? What's that.

Ryzen 5000 series has better single core performance which give a good boost in FPS in games. Ryzen 5000 series is just better.

It boils down to the math. IPC is Instructions Per Clock.

So for math sake, imagine a 3800x can do 1000 IPC, a 5600x is 20% raise in IPC, so can do 1200 IPC.
Single core boost for 3800x is 4.5GHz, for 5600x is 4.6GHz. Multiply those clocks by IPC.
The 3800x has upto 4.5T instructions in a second, the 5600x has 5.52T instructions in a second.
An instruction being a coded thing that says 'place this thing at this coordinate' 'paint it green' 'make it move' etc.

What would be a realistic amount of time when the 5600x will be easily available? 3 months? 6 months? More? I need to build a machine now and cant wait that long. Thanks.
The availability thing if i am not mistaken is more like it comes into stock and you have to buy it quickly. It's monthly i think. They don't take preorders as everyone wants one. So keep checking and snag one as it becomes available.
