[SOLVED] Ryzen 5800X paired with a GTX 1070 ?

Hi. I'm looking to upgrade to a new CPU and keep my GTX 1070. My current CPU is the i7 6700k. Do you think my GPU will bottleneck the CPU if I upgrade to a 5800x? Mostly playing multiplayer games at low - medium settings at 1080p but sometimes I play some single player games as well.

I will be playing Apex Legends & some PUBG. Mostly Apex though. I will be upgrading my CPU, Mobo , RAM. I was looking at the Ryzen 5600x or 5800x , for RAM I was looking for at least 3600mhz but I'm unsure if my GPU will bottleneck the new CPU since it's old. I'm playing at 144hz monitor so I would like to be hitting 144fps at least without dropping down.

Most gaming is limited by varying degrees by both the GPU and/or by the CPU...

Certainly the delivered gaming framerates with a 5800X could be higher with a better GPU, but, by that unrealistic 'bottlenecking' cutoff , technically everyone short of a 3080Ti or above is technically 'bottlenecking their CPU', so perhaps better terminology is required. (Like deciding if a system is overly 'lopsided'... and given today's GPU climate, you might very well find a 1070 'sufficient' for 2 or more years. Certainly, no one is likely to claim you 'don't have enough processor' for a decent handful of years with a 5800X, a fairly top tier CPU even after considering Intel's 12th gen.)

That upgrade will be fine however if you are playing at 1440p I would upgrade that gpu next.
