Ryzen 7 1700 for video editing without external graphics card

Hi All,

I am planning to upgrade from fx8350 for video editing

Ryzen 7 1700
MSI B450M PRO-VDH mother board
DDR4
8gb Corsair Vengeance 3000*2
WD blue 250gb SSD
WD blue 1tb HHD
450w power supply

Can I use the above setup for video editing without external graphics card ?
I am on a very tight budget.please help!

no, there is no integrated GPU in the ryzen 1700. you could get away with a gt710 (around $40) or cheap used graphic cards from local CL.

Another option is to change to a CPU with an integrated video adapter, like a Ryzen 3 2200G.

Even though the motherboard includes video ports, they only work when paired with this sort of CPU. Otherwise, you must use a stand alone video card.

only issue will be that 2200g isn't very strong in video editing, he might be okay~ish with 2400g. or a r5 1600/2600 with some spare cash on a basic graphics card.

you can try, but since its a old GPU I don't know if win10 supports it or not.

I am currently using that graphics card for fx8350 with win 10 and it's doing fine...so if it works with win 10 can I use it for my new build (ryzen 1700) ?

Yes. It should work. Given its age and anemic performance capacity, it will prevent the Ryzen from achieving its full potential, but it should be okay for a short term solution.
