[SOLVED] Ryzen 7 1700 or Ryzen 5 1600x

Hello guys!

I am currently looking forward to upgrading my PC and I am stuck at picking a CPU for my tasks.

The two CPUs in question are the Ryzen 7 1700 for 80€ and the Ryzen 5 1600x for 80€

Which one should I buy? I am only going to game and I don't really plann on working on anything that requires more cores.
The R7 has a lower TPD and more Cores / Threads but a lower Clock speed, the R5 has a higher TPD fewer Cores / Threads but a higher Clock speed.
I don't plan on overclocking since I have a cheap A320m Motherboard which cannot safely overclock.

I'd personally probably opt for the higher base and boost clock speeds of the 1600X in the scenario you listed ...

If you know how to overclock (very easy) then go for the 1700 and overclock it. and if you are only gaming then disable smt for a couple more fps
