First time building a pc and I found some good parts pretty cheap.

Here are the components:
MOBO : MSI B450-A PRO
CPU : Ryzen 7 1700
GPU : Sapphire Radeon RX Vega56
STORAGE : Toshiba P300 1TB
MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 8GB DDR4, 2400MHz
PSU : Super Flower Leadex, 80+ Silver, 650W
CASE : Segatop Halo 7 Plus Black

  1. Is Ryzen 7 1700 and RX Vega56 a good combo for 1080p gaming?
  2. Is the 650W psu enough to power the entire build?

That's going to be a great system. I also have a R7 1700. The 650w power supply will be plenty.
I'd suggest going with a 3200mhz 2 x 8gb ram kit and a solid state drive. Especially considering how good the prices are now.
FYI, if you hold out for another few weeks the 2nd gen hardware will most likely be discounted even further due to a new Ryzen release. You could potentially get a 2700x.
How much are you going to be spending?

  1. They'll get good performance. They should be good for 1080p and 1440p gaming. The Vega 56 is a little better than a GeForce GTX 1070.
  2. 650W should be plenty with room for some overclocking. The PSU should be decent. Not as stellar as higher end ones. It all depends on location and price.

Try to get dual channel memory and 3200mhz. It makes a difference with Ryzen. At least 2x4GB preferably 2x8GB for modern gaming. I prefer Crucial RAM. As they make their own memory. You aren't likely run into the inconsistency issues of third party RAM like Corsair. Where a module bought later on may have components from a different manufacturer.
