Which cpu is best among the 2 for gaming?
I read somewhere that the 3600 is better than ryzen 7 2700, even though it is 6 core in contrast to to 2700's 8-core.
Keep in mind that i can get ryzen 7 2700 for the price of ryzen 5 3600.

From my understanding, and having owned a 3600, the improvements in single core speed and latency make the 3600 better for gaming than the 2700 (pretty much all 3rd and 2nd gen follows this argument), however If you can take advantage of the extra cores and threads with some other workload a 2700 with an overclock should be close enough and give you the extra power for whatever.

3600 is better than the ryzen 7 2700. 3rd gen has improved ipc and single threaded performance.

The 9600k will have higher fps than the 3600, but the 9600k will have higher cpu usage and stutter in demanding games.

The 3600 is better since its smoother and will fair bett3r in the future

Production tasks, that take advantage of it's 6c/12 threads, the 3600 walks away from the 9600k's 6c/6t. The 9600k will have higher max fps, but the 3600 beats it out, in modern titles, in minimum FPS, making gameplay smoother. Shadow of the Tomb raider for instance, can use nearly all 6c/12t of an R5 3600. In gaming, a 3600/3600x is more comparable to a stock 8700k.

the 3600 mate. better ipc and gaming performance. if you're looking for best bang for buck though id go with the 2600. cheaper than both those and performs very close to the 3600. you would only see a difference between the two at really high fps120+ and even then the gap is small.

for best performance on ryzen use these settings: guides are available with all this inf out there if your interested.
make sure you get 3200mhz ram (samsung b-die) and oc it to 3466 if you can otherwise 3200 is good enough, use ryzen dram calculator to sort your timings out, disable gear down mode for ram in bios,
enable load line calibration mode 1 or 2, make sure you manually set all your voltages if youre going to do this.
also disable: amd cool n quiet, downcore control (set manual overclock), any p state settings or power down settings in cpu features.

enjoy Ryzen mate. shes a beast
