Ryzen 7 2700 with DDR4 8gb ram 2400MHz

I am slowly updating the pc and in view of the change of CPU I find myself currently with 8Gb DDR4 2400Mhz to pair with R7 2700

Can it work temporarily taking into account a future upgrade for the 3000mhz ram?

Yes...should work no issues...not ideal but will work. Hopefull RAM compatiablity for Ryzen second gen is much better.
