Just wanted to ask if an MSI mobo can support the Ryzen 7 2700x/3700x, also if so which version of BIOS will i require at the least?

The best thing to do is to check MSI's CPU support list, for your motherboard, on their own website. Also, nobody can tell you anything if you don't mention the exact model of the motherboard.

both are supported by default since MAX series from msi have native support for 3000 series. recommended? i don't think so. i prefer use a good B450 motherboard for those cpus since they take alot of power and could make the vrm hot enough.

Being a max series board, yes it will work. I also would recommend a better board. B450 would be far better, with either. You could do B550, for a 3700x, which would be better yet.
