I bought an EVGA 650G3 power supply, and when it arrived I figured out that I only had the 8 pin CPU power connector, but the Aorus x470 gaming 7 wifi motherboard has an 8 and a 4 pin CPU power connector, should I get a different power supply? or will one of those Molex to 4pin power cables work? Is this something I even need? The 2700x only goes to 4.2 I believe.

Solution
you don't have to worry about that.. I have the same (though Asrock board) just plug in the 1 4pin CPU to the board and you are good to go.. no need to worry about the 8 pin one. it would only matter is maybe you OC the crap out of the CPU.
