hey,

I need to buy a new GPU because my old sapphire rx 5700 xt nitro + died suddenly. I will go for new Nvidia rtx 4060 because my weak old cpu AMD Ryzen 7 2700x

Can Ryzen 7 2700x run with rtx 4060?
I don't want to change and cpu now because of money

Also my old motherboard is Asus x570 prime pro and my PSU Corsair RMx 850 watt

thanks for your help

Worry more if your CPU can still play games at the performance level you want, not whether or not it'll hold the GPU back.

Are you going to buy a lower performing GPU if we told you're not going to see the 4060 or whatever you go with hit 100% all the time? By the time you can get a CPU upgrade, you'll just need a new video card sooner.

So all these mean Ryzen 7 2700x is good enough for RTX 4060?
Is good enough and for Radeon rx 6700 xt?
Better rtx 4060 or radeon 6700 xt for my old 7 2700x?

What you suggest?

There's no such thing as "CPU is good enough for the GPU" or whatever. The CPU is responsible for generating the frames, the GPU is responsible for drawing those frames. If you want to see how much the CPU can perform, run the games you want to play at the lowest quality settings, including resolution. (though I guess this is kind of hard considering you don't have a working video card at the moment)

What you suggest?
Figure out what you want out of a graphics card. Like do you care about DLSS and better ray tracing performance? If yes, get an NVIDIA card. If no, figure out which card gets you the performance you want for the money you have to spend.
