Hi, i am not decided what to get, ryzen 3800x or i7 9700k?
I need a good processor because i am using a virtual reality program to create scenes in a game, so actually it has alot of phisics in it, Virt a Mate if you heard about it, so i need a strong processor to give good performance when i work and create, i also use Daz studios to create 3d models... So please help me decide wich one would be best?

It looks like the GPU matters a lot more for Daz Studio and it seems to like single core high frequency see threads below. GPU wise the NVidia camp have the better solution for Daz Studios and Daz will leverage the GPU, go RTX and the best you can afford.

There's not much between them, in everyday use. If you need serious multi-threading performance (intel 8cores, 8threads, AMD 8cores, 16threads) then go with AMD. Intel is slightly better for gaming though, but it's very minimal.

Neither of those if you need lots of threads. Get the Ryzen 7 3700X (8cores/16threads), or if budget allows it the 3900X (12cores/24threads), don't waste your money on the 3800X is not worth it.

And remember Ryzen like faster RAM and good cooling, so even when the stock cooler is very good for the 3700X, you may get slightly better performance out of a beefier tower air cooler or AIO solution.

One of the great recent additions to Daz Studio was the NVIDIA Iray rendering system. The iRay renderer provides physically-based rendering that simulates the actual physical behavior of light and materials in the real world. This enables users to create amazing photo-realistic renders. It also requires a somewhat beefy graphics card to do it. NVIDIA cards work with Iray, but AMD cards do not. Computers with AMD cards will revert to CPU rendering (which Iray handles very well). This is the reason I’ll be doing most of my work on a PC workstation with an NVIDIA card.'

The Ryzen 3700X would be my bet though the 9700K will also do a good job but the additional threads will come in handy especially if you are using other programmes as well. 9900K would be right up there purely on the 5GHz frequency with a healthy 8 cores and 16 threads but then you are into the 12 core 24 thread Ryzen 3900 territory and as an Intel user I would still go the 3900 route if I had the money...

Neither. Get a 3700X (and use the saved money to buy better RAM) or a 3900X (mo' corez, mo' powah)

3900x is too expensive, but i was taking in consideration that for an extra 100 pounds, i can jump to i9 9900k? it seems on benchmarks that its around i7 9700k but the cpu usage is like lower than half, where the 9700k is used about 90%, the 9900k is used at about 40% so its much more future proof, much more powerful i would say, what do you guys say? the 3900x is really looking good but too expensive..

PS: will the NH-D15 be enough for the 9900k as a cooler?

don't forget to compare cost of a suitable motherboard for that 9900k. To get the best out of it you have to overclock and it's a room heater then, demanding the best of cooling (closed loop with big waterblock and high capacity pump recommended) and motherboard.

You can get an expensive motherboard for 3900X but it's not required to get the most out of it. There's even one (at least) B450 board that will handle it quite well enough.

Loading youself up to 90% means that spotify or browser underneath might hurt your perofrmance AND as they patch more spectre kind of security holes, it will only get worse.
IMHO your choice is between 9900k or 3800x BOTH will give you decent performance & its almost only a price war now.
Wait for black friday. pick any out of 9900k/3800x/3900x that will fall into nice deal, you cannot go wrong with neither of them. (if you want ADOBE stuff, pick INTEL)

For Ryzen 3700X, 3800X or 3900X the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS or TUF GAMING X570-PLUS WiFi is more than capable and have a very good price compared to other X570 mobos out there.

As for coolers, even overclocking the Noctua NH-D15 will be good for any of those (yes, including the 9900K). The only thing that would win over that noctua will be a very good 360mm AIO or a custom loop.

Just remember that good case airflow is really important when you mess with this high end desktop cpus.
