Im planning on upgrading my cpu, RAM and motherboard.
my two main options are the i9 9900k or the ryzen 7 3800x. price wise in here the ryzen is about a 100-120$ cheaper, and i've watched some benchmarks and the i9 seems to be slighty ahead.
my question is, what would you suggest upgrading to (mainly for gaming), and which of the two would probably last me a good 2-3 years.
P.S- also planning on gettin 32gb (16*2) 3000hz+ RAM and a new motherboard regardless of which CPU i end up with.
Any suggestions and advice would be awesome, thanks for reading!

current specs:
i7 7700 non-k
vega 56 gpu
16gb DDR4 ram (8x2)
850W seasonic PSU

In games, 9900k is ahead in single core performance and in multi core (all cores) usage only if OC-ed to 5GHz or more. Either one is more than good enough for any games with any GPU and that should last next couple of years at least. Ryzen comes with decent cooler so you don't have to spend on it and also has cheaper motherboards so there are further savings.

What resolution and refresh rate is your monitor? In what way is your current CPU not performing adequately? Why do you think you need 32GB of RAM? Is this for gaming only?
mainly plan on 1080p, maybe a bit higher depends on the game.
i have a 144 freesync monitor and RAM isnt too expenssive here, ended up gettin 2 sticks of 16GB of 3466mhz.
would u think my vega 56 work well with the Ryzen 7 3800x? or will i be limited by something.
