Hello,
I recently tried to upgrade my Ryzen 7 2700X to a Ryzen 7 5700X on my Gigabyte B450M DS3H WiFi motherboard. I upgraded the BIOS from F40 (was the default when I got the motherboard, unsure if it had been upgraded previously) to F63 first using my 2700X installed as it was the suggested version on the Gigabyte product page for this processor. I also cleared the CMOS by removing the battery for 5 minutes and ensured that the fTPM setting was "enabled", which I think was done automatically when the BIOS was upgraded.
The computer does turn on, but I have not been able to get the computer to show anything but a black screen. I don't know if its relevant, but none of the USB ports work either. The CPU liquid cooler lights up and the blue "on" light turns on, but the little flashing red light next to it does not flash at all. For reference, I am using this case. I have tried contacting the OP of this post as well for assistance as it seems like they had a similar problem. The computer boots fine when I put the 2700X back in.
I realize that this is a budget motherboard and thus the performance wont be as good as it could be but I am fine with that for the time being as I will probably upgrade the motherboard at some point in the near future.
I am sure I am missing something obvious so perhaps someone might be able to shed some light on what I might be doing wrong.
Thank you!
