Don't waste your time. This is an advertisement masquerading as an article. $360 is the current market price for Ryzen 7 7800X3D. There is absolutely no discount or sale.

Actually alot of aussie retailers are selling the 7800x3d for $589 aud right now which is a great price ..
I paid $720aud at release and they have been around the $640aud mark for some time..

so maybe not a huge drop from $640aud to $590aud but still better than nothing !!

An impressive CPU, which i still regret not buying. Shouldn't have settled for Intel's 13900K.
13900k is a great cpu what kills it now is its Platform life span 14th was a joke and now Intel fans are stuck waiting till 15th ..

For production and gaming the 13900k is still the king of sorts !!

I don't know man. I get the impression that my 4090 would make a much better combo with 7800. I seriously underestimated it. I like gaming, so i kinda let my opinion about AMD's GPUs influence my choice of a CPU.

A foolish mistake.

P.S. BTW, that's an awesome rig you got there!

EXACTLY, THG is no longer news/media. Its adverts. in fact as this was posted it was about $10 cheaper on amazon.

Thank you

You can find some pics of my other builds as well as my current system in the members photos thread ..
always happy for people to take my ideas and better them .. page 199 few posts down !!

I think no doubt if gaming and only gaming is youre thing then the 7800x3d is the better cpu ..
even think Hardware unboxed did a video with the 13900k vs 7800x3d using the 4090 and the 7800x3d was winning alot of the charts ..

Not that i want to sound rude but i think your mistake was not the 13900k as much as the Intel platform socket life just sucks ..

Im not sure what i would do in your situation its a 50/50 buy AM5 now or soon buy the 7800x3d or wait till the next gen x3d or just wait till 15th ???

That's my current motherboard, but i don't know if it's gonna be compatible with Intel's 15th gen:

thats the thing 15th will be a new platform !!

here is the issue AM5 will most likely support 2 more gens of CPU's ( take that with a grain of salt as im not 100% ) which should bring it around the 15th gen so when 15th releases AM6 may be releasing which leaves the unknown is intel going to support longer than 2 gens of its socket ( track record says no ) which puts AM6 in the better position and we know intel are working on X3d cpus but when are we going to see them !!

Intel was the go to cpu but AMD have been hurting them year after year now ..

for the amount of money to swap now i wouldnt be doing it id be staying with what i have unless money is no object..

there are gains in the 7800x3d but minor in the grand scheme of things ..
maybe wait till 8950x3d ( which i think will be the 9950x3d ) and see what that offers and if they get the cache stacked better..
or wait till new platforms 15th and AM6

I have seen this pricing for a while on microcenter. Hard to say with all the black friday sales going on. For a addition $130 they have it bundled with a mother board and 32gb of ddr5 6000 memory. If you live near a microcenter they seem to always have good deals.

Microcenter just had this for a bundle deal with the 7800x3D, a B650 Motherboard and 32GB of DDR5 Ram for $469 which is an insane deal. That's a full upgrade package for less than Intel charges for just their competing processor.
