Question Ryzen 7

Right now i got a i5 with a 1080ti im going to switch my motherboard and cpu to a ryzen 7 and a amd motherboard will i have to do anything other than maybe update the bios or will i have to reset my pc or anything like that?

If you are changing the motherboard, reinstalling the OS will most likely be required. If you have a Windows 10 key, just link the key to your Microsoft account, and then do this upgrade, then reinstall Windows. When it asks for a key, select the I don't have a key option, then you can later re-link your Microsoft account and Windows will get activated. Other than that, I don't think there's anything except making sure your drivers are up to date as well.

I already got windows on a thumbdrive i used for my pc a week ago will that be fine?

Yes, it will be fine. Just boot to it and follow the instructions. When Win finishes its intial installation and reboots, you may have to remove the flash drive so the installation pgm. doesn't start all over again. Sometimes this happens depending on the setup.

If you have a HDD also in your system, unplug the SATA cable until the install is done. Sometimes (very rarely) Win will put the boot sector on the wrong drive otherwise.
