And for $500, and another $500-ish figure for the AM5 motherboard and DDR5, you get a whopping 10% performance gain over a 5800X3D!

Just buy a $1000 GPU and you'll see far more than 10% performance gain...

And a 5800x3d probably won't melt either. Hopefully AMD's 8000 series irons out the issues and launches with more affordable motherboards. With the price of GPU's and motherboards building your own PC is way more expensive than a few years ago.

You don't need a $500 motherboard and RAM, $160 gets you a decent MOBO and around $100 for decent RAM. But hey, don't let truth get in the way of your BS.

It's an absolute deal for a gaming-only CPU, and it's great for all types of newer gaming that is.
I'd get one but I'm still waiting on GPUs to come down for an excuse to get a new system.

Well let's see, PCIe 5.0 AM5 motherboards are about $300, 32GB DDR5 is around $150 for a proper "gamer" set, so yeah, so much BS. Of course you could get a cheaper PCIe 4 motherboard, but if you were going to do that you'd be better off with a 5800X3D.

Where I live there is one msi a620 mb for 120 cad now. But it's barebones. One Pcie 4, one m.2 slot, 2 ram slots, gb ethernet. It's a big jump in price for something even slightly better.
