[SOLVED] Ryzen 9 5900X temperature & noise issues ?

Just upgraded to a 5900x and my current cooler is a Hyper 212 Evo, cheap but works well, max temp with HWiNFO of 76'C while gaming.

The issue is my system fan is pumping 1900 rpm and annoying as <Mod Edit> as my pc is on my desk.

Is this something I can fix with software or do I need to invest in a better cpu cooler?

That cooler will work in a pinch but is not really meant for a 5900x. dh-15 or a dark rock pro 4 would be more built for that CPU.

My memory is a fat 2 and a bit inches tall, would a Noctua NH-U9S 92mm be a viable cooler?

Hard no, too small of a cooler. You bought a 5900x it needs a large cooler or an AIO to preform well. Most of those coolers let you raise the front fan to accommodate larger memory.

Yeah the NH-D15 is nice, I have it on my 5900x and it does well.
