Hey all,
I just finished my Ryzen build and am running into some problems. It boots into windows and at first glance everything runs fine, but whenever I try to start up a game, the system shuts off completely. I've tried to look around for someone else with the same problem, but to no avail.

My build is
Ryzen 1600x
Corsair Vengeance lpx 3000mhz (running at 2133mhz)
MSI x370 Sli Plus
R9 290x
Corsair CX750

If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

I have the exact same problem with a B350 and Ryzen 1600X build. My rig could run simultaneous stress tests of Prime 95, R15, and CPU-Z all day and not break a sweat, but the moment I’d load up any mediocre or demanding game, my system would do a full reboot. It was a consistent pattern.

Here is the link to my thread that I just posted an answer to, it might help you.

If it isn’t all the basic stuff (thermal throttling, old PSU, weak PSU for your power draw, incompatible RAM, etc), then it’s highly likely that your MSI mobo is faulty. After swapping out multiple new parts, my rig worked...

Its a fresh windows install, all drivers are up to date, and the mobo bios has been updated to the most recent stable build. The psu is about 3 years old and works fine in my other build when I transplant it.
The CPU, Ram, and mobo are the new components and i need to rule out any defects with them in case I need to RMA them.

That PSU is the culprit - being 3 years old the capacitors have most likely worn out. It happens, and it will most likely need to be replaced.
