Ryzen compatibility with VMware Workstation and/or ESXi

Hi everyone,

I want to build an 8c/16t system. Now this system will be heavily used for IT labs with VMware workstation and ESXi. My question is, are there any compatibility issues with the new Ryzen CPUs and VMware functioning together?

I'd prefer to save some money and go AMD.

they are not compatible yet (march 2017).

Also, vmware doesn't list the Ryzen cpu yet: https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=cpu
