So my recent Ryzen build is having some problems i have reinstalled windows 10 and the necessary drivers and have been everywhere to figure this out but nothing.

So i try run some games on steam (PUBG, DOOM, GTAV, COD IW) or Origin (BF4 and BF1) and they all seem to crash after starting up or loading in now before anyone asks i have literally done EVERYTHING from reinstalling windows and drivers and directx. So my question is what causes my system to keep crashing either from directx or these RAM errors on pubg?

Pc specs:

RYZEN 7 1700

MSI B350 PC MATE

COURSAIR VENGANCE LPX 2400MHz DDR4 1X8GB

Antec VP 700P

GTX 750TI 2GB (would this effect it?)

Yea im literally lost i havent done anything on this pc for 3 months. My conclusion is either the mobo or ram as my last BIOS time was 19 seconds?!? But i was wondering as well if memtest86 was good for the memory?

Thanks for all the help u guys can give btw... I'm stating to hate this PC build im testing another set of memory tomorrow so hopefully that can rule out that error and btw my system doesn't POST. well i mean display a POST.

Memtest86+ will stress your ram.
You should be able to complete a full pass with NO errors.

FWIW, a 2 stick ram kit would have been a better choice, but I see no reason why one should not work.
Check your motherboard manual.
Sometimes the correct slot to use for just one stick is not obvious

Well i wanted to get one stick so i can upgrade down the line to 16 or even 32gb.

Cpu temps are normal at least 50 degrees Celsius at load on stock so thats fine... Um ill run memtest to see if thats the case although im certain my memory is fine seeing how it never peaks in intensive games but ill check anyway with memtest. I also have to test the 2x4gb sticks (8gb) i am also using the correct slot btw (second DIMM slot on mobo)

Adding ram is not 100% guaranteed to work.
Probably less so with ryzen.
The reason is that
Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
This is more difficult when 4 sticks are involved.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.
It is safer to get what you need in one kit.
But, it is a bit more expensive because of the added matching of all the sticks to insure compatibility.

You must consider what is your plan "B" if you buy a second 8gb stick and it does not work?
I suggest your plan should be to buy a 2 x8gb kit upgrade that is compatible with your motherboard.
Then, try the original 8gb stick with it.
If it works, you have 24gb.
If it does not, keep it as a spare or sell it.

I realise that but i have found the problem my RAM has came faulty out of the packet. Do any of you guys know how to send it back and stuff? I tested my same games with another kit (my friends) of 2x4 gb and my pc worked great and didnt crash. So i guess theres my problem.
