Guys
I am deciding to upgrade my i7 4930K to the new Ryzen 3700x or 3800x, and will dedicate my old 4930k for work/home server. So this new Ryzen builds really for gaming only and fully intend to oc. Yes I understand, we should wait for the reviews after 7/7, but I am trying to get these in case price increase after next week. I ordering these from Amazon and will not open any box until I know that I am going to use it, so I can definitely return them or exchange. Below are my parts that I am buying and parts that I already own from my existing system
AMD - Ryzen 7 3700X or 3800x - pending
Noctua - NH-D15 SE-AM4 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler (new)
Asus - ROG Crosshair VII Hero ATX AM4 Motherboard (new)
RTX 2080 - (already own this)
Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory C16 (new)
Crucial - MX500 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - For OS (new)
Crucial - MX500 1000 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - For gaming and app (already own this)
WD 3TB Storage - download/file storage(already own this)
CORSAIR HX Series, HX850 - (already own this)
Corsair - 200R ATX Mid Tower Case (new)
Budget for new: 1000
NEW - Current estimate around $870 from pcpartpicker
I have a budget around 1000 for all the new stuff that I am getting. One thing I am not really clear about is the ram if I should go with the 3200 CL 14 or CL16. I see some forum mentioning AMD is more sensitive toward ram, given that I definitely will be doing OC, should I be looking to get something else? I am currently looking at the Corsair - Vengeance LPX 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory which is price around 79 from Amazon, any reasons that this is not a good fit? Thanks!
