I'd go with the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X.
You get two more cores....and better multicore performance....and even though the R5 beats it "single core"....I'm seeing more games running multicore these days.
and it's not really "old"...it was released in 2017.

Yeah the Ryzen 2000 series is really just a refresh of the 1000 series which just fixed some minor technical issues from the original launch. If you look at the numbers between the 1600X and the 2600X and the 1800X and the 2700, they're pretty identical. If you want to save money then definitely get the 1800X. I just bought one last week, and if you live near a Micro Center you can get it for $200 right now which is an absolute steal.
