Hello,

I am trying to get a stable 3600MHz, I used a DRAM Calculator for Ryzen I put all the timings and everything into the BIOS but I cannot get a post. I tried 1.35v then 1.70v, 1.80v and finally 1.4v but it still doesn't work. I never overclocked so it's a bit scary to me, I feel like too much voltage is going to damage my RAM or something?

Also, it does work without timings and just changing the memory speed, it posts. However, I got a problem where in the morning, most of the time at first boot it doesn't want to post and I think it's because of the memory voltage.

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X
RAM: G.Skill 32 GB (2x16) DDR4-3600 F4-3600C18D-32GTZN
MOBO: Asus B450-I Strix

Solution
The problem your having is you aren't using the dram calculator properly. The Calculator does not guarantee anything, rather it's a GENERAL guess/estimate of what your RAM can achieve.

You'll want to read this, this is from 1usmus the same person who created the DRAM calculator, read everything in this tutorial: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-memory-tweaking-overclocking-guide/

You've got a lot to learn 😀, there's way more to tweak then just voltage and some timings. Memory by far is the most complicated part of a computer that's tweak-able.

Well then, thanks for ruining my hope😆

Edit: I had problem running DOCP profile before but I just run it again and it's stable. I'm just gonna stick that that.

HAHA no problem 😛

In all seriousness, I didn't mean that in a negative way. If you are a nerd like me, memory overclocking can be fun. The biggest problem I have with it and the reason why I don't do it anymore is because it's an insane time sink. And I mean to get a meaningful performance gain out of it, you can just stress test and change the primary timings, which is pretty easy to do and doesn't take long. But the performance impact is next to nothing in most applications.

Glad to hear DOCP is working for you, yeah if you are having issues, usually increasing SOC voltage or DRAM voltage can fix DOCP/AMP/XMP instability.
