Hi hopefully this is in the right section since its my first post here. use to lurk around plenty but got a question now.

I'm planing to upgrade to Ryzen within the next couple month got about a 300-350 budget at the moment (might go up later on). My current system is ok performance wise but it's pretty old so I figured it's time to upgrade.

So i got something picked out and i was wondering if these will work fine together.

cpu https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113446
mobo https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813145009
ram https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233788

PS. i might end up going for ryzen 5 so I would also like to know if above would work with ryzen 5.

I've read a few things about am4 mobos not supporting ram properly so want to make sure i got the right combo. The ram is on memory compatibility list (at least the 16gb and up kits but they're made up of the sticks i linked so I'm guessing it'll work but rather make sure)

Thanks for your time.

Oh also just general info. I'm mainly using my pc for gaming and internet.

Current rig

mobo - asus m5a78l-m plus/usb3
cpu - amd fx 4300
gpu - gigabyte geforce gtx 1060
psu - 500w that came with my build from cybertron pc

My recommendation:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($193.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI - X370 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3466 Memory ($92.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $366.86
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

If you really want to stay inside the budget, get a cheaper B350 MB is also fine.

Thank's I guess I'll pick different ram.

Thanks. I got a bit of time so I can save up few more bucks and raise my budget to get the above parts. I don't mind going a bit over budget if it means I'll end up with something I can rely on. I don't upgrade often and don't get top of the line when I do. Just want decent stuff I can play games on so this seems like it'll work for me. Thanks again.

That X370 is on sale right now, may raise to the original price when you want to purchase. You can just find a B350 replacement. X370 will be strongly recommended if you will upgrade to 8+ cores like Zen2 CPU :) You can ask again when you want to purchase and I can help again. Most Newegg discounts only lasts for a few weeks and rebates take weeks to come back.
