Hello Everybody!

I've been a long time user of AMD since there budget friendly and overall OK. Yes, they run hotter and run a bit more in power but that's besides the point.

However, about 8 months ago I purchased a i3-6100 Sky lake Processor. Which to my liking is pretty good, however it's a dual core w/ hyper threading.

My main question is I just saw on a few websites that Ryzen is releasing there '1400' which is $169 w/ 4 cores 8-threads. Should I change to the new AM4 line-up w/ the ryzen cpu's? I rock the EVGA 1050ti 4GB SSC GPU, how are nvidia graphic cards w/ the new AM4 boards?

Would having the ryzen line-up be more beneficial or just sticking with purchasing a i5-6400 be better?

Thanks!

As above, wait till the 1400 reviews then compare what you'll get (and require to buy...new motherboard etc) with an Intel CPU upgrade for your existing setup. Almost certainly it'll be best to upgrade CPU for your current motherboard.

Our local computer store told me the main difference between intel and AMD is that intel cpu' s have more cache ; and remember cpu cache is a very expensive material ; what aMD does it that they offer you less cache but instead more speed , cores , threads and everything else for a similar price

i bet the AMD cpu's get so hot just because of the cache business ..

They get hot because AMD doesn't have access to patented Intel technologies for controlling power delivery. Cache plays a part, yes, but it's known that power delivery is better controlled on Intel systems than on AMD systems.
