Are we returning to the old days with many card makers?
No info is revealed so far, but they plan to make value (Stealh) and high-end (Viper). Still the same names as always too.

You can also check the THG Hard News for the brief news itself: http://www.tomshardware.com/technews/index.html

I expected something like this. The 3d card market has hardly advanced since the 9700pro came out. The current situation is just right for companies to compete with ATI and Nvidia.

All we need now is a 3DFX resurrection and we're laughing!

Wait a minute, you mean Diamond isn't going to make their own GPUs but just come back as a manufacturer like Asus?

The first new Diamond products will begin shipping in November and are planned to feature technology from both of the leading graphics chip vendors, ATI and NVIDIA.

Yes, I told everyone two years ago (or was it three) that the company was making a HUGE mistake putting all their eggs in one basket with MP3 players, and that eventually asian companies would drive their profits into the gutter. And everyone said I wasn't "visionary".

Diamond NEVER made their own chips. They partnered with S3 late in the game, right before S3 quit making chips. Diamond used to make motherboards and all kinds of other stuff before S3 took over.

I had a Diamond Viper 550 & the 770 ultra as well. The 770 is still in use. Gave it to a friend of mine that just uses that machine to download videos off the web from. He lets it go far days at a time doing that.

Dazzle them with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS!

Well, it's cool, I guess. 😱 Just not too exciting relative to the competition.

Yeah now that I think about it, I was feeling something relating to Voodoos when I posted this thread.
