Sabertooth 990fx/gen3 r2.0 PCI 3.0 Max MHz Memory Question!

Hello, I am looking to upgrade my memory and went into my manual to see the max MHz my computer can handle and it falls in between DDR3 2400 and the lowest DDR3 1333. What I have read online seems to be the max DDR3 1866 is what the MB can efficiently handle.

If I can get memory 2000-2400MHz range how crucial is it that the timing matches up perfectly? I cannot seem to find memory that timing matches up perfectly to the specifications in my manual some of the timing numbers are like 1 decibel off.

Usually it's 1866 , have seen a few that claim 2133 is possible.

I have 1866mhz in my Revision 2.

Hopefully with that board a minimum of a 8320.

😉 My bad, it's 8350 in the sig, missed it. Prob 2133 will be tops with a bit of an OC

Just don't get why they have them in the manual above 1866 that you can use.

Anything above 1866 is near to impossible to find with the exact timing sequence stated in the manual , the recommendations on Asus sight is nothing near what is stated in the manual!! Real aggravating!! Can I just manually program the timing sequence if it is just off a decibel from what is stated in my manual?I have never trying messing with timing or tried to overclock ram before!!

You can do manual , but it may or may not work.

Listen to Tradesman1 he's great with the memory modules.

See if they show 2133 as a DOCP option, if not set the primary timings, Command Rate/Timings to 2T or 2N, DRAM voltage + 0.05 from spec and the CPU/NB voltage to 1.25 inititally
